Assurance Staff Accountant – BDO USA

Our Los Angeles assurance practice is hiring Assurance Staff Accountants to audit clients across entertainment, media, real estate, and technology industries — sectors where LA's business community thrives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of financial statement audits for privately held and public company clients
- Perform substantive testing of account balances and transactions and evaluate evidence obtained
- Prepare audit working papers using BDO's audit methodology and documentation standards
- Develop an understanding of client operations, accounting systems, and internal controls
- Prepare client deliverables including financial statement drafts, audit reports, and management letters
- Participate in BDO's in-house Assurance training and national new-hire onboarding programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting or Finance (150 credit hours for CA CPA licensure)
- Intention to pursue CPA (exam support provided)
- Strong GAAP knowledge and attention to audit quality and documentation standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills for client-facing work
- Willingness to work extended hours during busy season (January–April)
