UX Researcher

Meta

Full-time Hybrid United States

Job Description

About This Role

Meta is hiring a UX Researcher to generate the human insights that drive product decisions across its platforms. You will design and conduct qualitative and quantitative studies, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and help product teams build products that genuinely serve the needs of a global and diverse user base.

Job Overview

  • Job Title: UX Researcher
  • Company: Meta
  • Location: Menlo Park, CA / New York, NY / Seattle, WA / Austin, TX / Chicago, IL
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Experience Level: Mid-level (2–5 years)
  • Salary Range: $45–$60/hr
  • Posted Date: 2026-06-01
  • Application Deadline: 2026-07-01

Role Context

UX researchers at Meta are embedded within product teams and own the research agenda for their area. You will run usability studies, diary studies, surveys, and interviews — often across multiple countries simultaneously — to inform features that affect billions of users. Researchers here are expected to influence product roadmaps, not just report findings, and are treated as full peers alongside PMs, designers, and engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute qualitative research studies including usability testing, interviews, and field research
  • Design and analyze quantitative surveys and diary studies at scale
  • Synthesize multi-method findings into clear, compelling insights for product teams
  • Present research results to cross-functional teams and senior leadership
  • Maintain a research roadmap that anticipates team needs rather than just responding to requests
  • Partner with data scientists to combine behavioral data with qualitative understanding

Requirements & Skills

  • 2+ years of applied UX research experience in a product tech company
  • Proficiency in qualitative methods (interviews, usability studies, ethnographic research)
  • Experience with quantitative methods (surveys, statistical analysis, log data interpretation)
  • Strong storytelling skills — you turn research findings into narratives that drive decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent studies across different product teams
  • Master's or PhD in HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related field preferred

Benefits & Work Conditions

  • $45–$60/hr with Meta RSUs and performance bonuses
  • Hybrid schedule with remote flexibility
  • Research conference attendance and publication support
  • Full health, dental, vision, and mental health coverage
  • $3,000 annual learning and wellness reimbursement

Who Should Apply

Researchers who are curious about human behavior at scale and want their findings to shape products used by billions of people. You are methodologically versatile, communicate with clarity, and are comfortable influencing product decisions in a fast-paced environment.

About the Company

Meta has one of the largest UX research organizations in the tech industry, with researchers embedded across every major product surface. Its scale allows for research that would be impossible at smaller companies — including studies spanning dozens of countries and user cohorts of millions.

How to Apply

Apply through Meta Careers. Search "UX Researcher." The interview includes a research proposal exercise, a presentation of past work, and a behavioral discussion with cross-functional partners.
