About This Role
ShieldFirst Insurance is seeking motivated Insurance Sales Agents to sell life, health, auto, and property insurance products to individuals and businesses across the US. Insurance sales is one of the highest-paying careers available to people without a college degree — a state insurance licence is all you need to start, and dedicated agents regularly earn $60,000–$100,000+ per year through base salary plus uncapped commissions and renewal income.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect for new individual and business insurance clients through referrals, networking, cold outreach, and inbound lead conversion
- Conduct needs assessments with prospects to identify their coverage gaps and recommend appropriate insurance products
- Present insurance quotes, policy options, and premium comparisons from carrier partners clearly and persuasively
- Process applications, coordinate underwriting, and ensure policy issuance within timelines that meet client expectations
- Retain existing policyholders through annual policy reviews, cross-selling opportunities, and proactive service contact
- Meet monthly and annual premium production targets set by the branch manager or agency principal
- Maintain compliance with state insurance regulations, carrier guidelines, and data privacy requirements at all times
Required Skills and Qualifications
- No college degree required — state P&C and/or Life and Health insurance licence required (or willingness to obtain)
- Goal-oriented personality with strong persuasion, persistence, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable making high volumes of outbound calls, following up on leads, and asking for the business
- Basic computer skills for CRM, quoting platforms, and policy management systems
- Prior sales experience in any field is a strong advantage; insurance experience is not required
