About This Role

Amazon India is hiring Operations Managers for its fulfilment and delivery network in the Mumbai region. This is a floor leadership role responsible for managing shift operations, team performance, and process compliance at one of Amazon's high-volume fulfilment centres. The role requires strong people management skills and the ability to make quick operational decisions in a fast-moving environment. Candidates with 3–7 years of operations or supply chain experience are preferred.

Role Context

You will manage a team of 50–150 associates and team leads across inbound, outbound, or last-mile operations depending on your assignment. You will own daily shift metrics — units per hour, accuracy rate, and safety compliance — and report to a Senior Operations Manager. Amazon's operations culture is data-driven: every decision is backed by metrics and every process improvement is measured against a defined baseline.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end shift operations for inbound receiving, pick-pack, or dispatch
Track hourly performance metrics and take corrective action on dips
Lead, coach, and develop team leads and associates on the floor
Ensure safety protocols, 5S standards, and compliance requirements are followed
Conduct root-cause analysis on operational failures and implement fixes
Coordinate with support functions (HR, IT, Facilities) for smooth shift handovers
Drive process improvement initiatives using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies

Requirements & Skills

3–7 years of operations management experience in logistics, e-commerce, or manufacturing
Graduate in any discipline — MBA or engineering background preferred
Strong floor presence and ability to manage large teams under pressure
Data fluency — comfortable reading dashboards, Excel MIS, and drawing conclusions
Lean / Six Sigma certification is an advantage
Willingness to work in rotating shifts including nights and weekends
