Role Context

Yoast.com attracts tens of millions of organic visits annually, primarily through educational SEO and WordPress content. As SEO Content Strategist, you will maintain and grow this traffic by identifying content gaps, updating outdated posts, and building topic clusters that establish Yoast as the definitive authority on WordPress SEO. You will use Yoast SEO Premium as your primary optimization tool.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct keyword research and build topic cluster maps for Yoast's core subject areas
• Audit the existing content library and prioritize updates by organic traffic opportunity
• Write detailed content briefs for internal writers and freelance contributors
• Optimize posts for featured snippets, People Also Ask, and semantic keyword coverage
• Track ranking changes and traffic impact for updated content in Google Search Console
• Contribute to quarterly SEO strategy reports for the marketing leadership team

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's in Marketing, Journalism, or Communications
• 2–3 years of SEO content strategy experience, ideally at a content-heavy website
• Proficiency with Yoast SEO, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console
• Strong understanding of topic clusters, pillar pages, and internal linking strategy
• Excellent writing and editing skills — able to produce and refine SEO-focused content
• WordPress familiarity — comfortable working in the block editor and Yoast plugin
