About This Role
GreenSpin Energy is hiring Wind Turbine Technicians (Wind Techs) for onshore and offshore wind farm maintenance and service roles across the United States. Wind turbine technology is one of the fastest-growing, highest-paying trades available without a college degree — trained technicians are in high demand as America's wind energy capacity expands rapidly. We provide full training and all required safety certifications for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on wind turbine generators including gearbox lubrication, blade inspections, pitch and yaw system service, and electrical system checks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in turbine nacelles, towers, and foundation systems using SCADA data and on-site testing
- Climb turbine towers (60–100+ metres) safely using fall protection equipment and rescue-trained procedures
- Replace worn components including gearbox assemblies, main bearings, generators, blade pitch drives, and converter systems
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and safety documentation in the asset management system
- Follow GreenSpin Energy's lockout/tagout, confined space, and arc flash safety procedures rigorously
- Participate in emergency response procedures for turbine failures, electrical incidents, and fire events at wind farm sites
Required Skills and Qualifications
- No college degree required — Wind Turbine Technician AAS degree or equivalent WTEC-accredited training programme preferred
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Basic Safety Training certification required or willingness to obtain
- Background in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems maintenance is strongly preferred
- Not afraid of heights — must be physically capable of climbing 100-metre towers regularly
- Valid driver's licence; willingness to travel to remote wind farm sites and stay on-site as needed
What We Offer
- Monthly salary of $4,600–$6,700 plus per diem allowance and site travel reimbursement
- Fully funded GWO Safety Training, OSHA 30, and turbine manufacturer training at no cost
- Site travel and accommodation covered for remote project assignments
- Career advancement to Lead Technician, Field Service Engineer, and Site Supervisor roles
- Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with 4% match, and paid holidays
