About This Role
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is seeking qualified Maintenance Technicians (Electrician/Fitter) to join its civil, electrical, and mechanical maintenance teams responsible for keeping the Delhi Metro infrastructure in safe, operational condition around the clock. This is a hands-on technical role for ITI-certified candidates and diploma holders who want stable, well-compensated technical employment with one of India's most respected engineering organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on metro station electrical systems, track equipment, escalators, lifts, and HVAC units
- Carry out corrective maintenance and emergency repairs on civil and electromechanical assets as assigned by the shift engineer
- Inspect and test electrical panels, switchgear, UPS units, and signalling equipment according to maintenance schedules
- Identify wear, fault conditions, and safety hazards during inspections and report them promptly to the senior engineer
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, defect reports, and equipment history records in the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
- Adhere to DMRC's safety regulations, lockout-tagout procedures, and permit-to-work systems at all times
- Support major overhauls, station shutdowns, and infrastructure upgrade projects as directed by the maintenance manager
Required Skills and Qualifications
- ITI certificate in Electrician, Fitter, Electronic Mechanic, or related trade from a government-recognised institute
- Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering is preferred for higher-grade positions
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards, maintenance tools, and test equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals
- Physical fitness for working in station infrastructure environments including confined spaces, heights, and live rail areas
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts including night maintenance windows
