About This Role

TechForge India is hiring a Production Engineer for its Pune manufacturing facility to manage production planning, line efficiency, rejection analysis, and capacity utilization for its precision machined components manufacturing operations. B.E. Mechanical or Production Engineering graduates with 1–3 years of manufacturing production experience are invited to apply. This is a shop floor-based role requiring daily coordination with machine operators, quality inspectors, and materials management across assigned production sections.

Role Context

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will manage one or two assigned machining sections covering CNC turning and milling operations. Responsibilities span shift planning, work order release, material flow coordination, rejection investigation, and daily production reporting. You will work in shifts covering the full production working day and are expected to resolve bottlenecks in real time rather than escalating routine issues to management.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and release daily production schedules for assigned CNC machining sections based on dispatch priorities
Monitor machine utilization and identify unplanned downtime causes for maintenance team coordination
Investigate production rejections using 8D methodology and implement corrective actions with process engineers
Coordinate raw material availability with the materials team to prevent production stoppages
Prepare daily and weekly production performance reports covering output, efficiency, and rejection metrics
Conduct shift handover briefings with outgoing and incoming operators covering work orders and pending issues
Support new product trials in the production environment and document process learnings for release
Participate in lean manufacturing improvement projects focused on cycle time and rejection reduction

Requirements & Skills

B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering from a recognized university
1–3 years of production engineering experience in a CNC machining or precision components manufacturing environment
Understanding of production planning concepts including capacity loading, scheduling, and work order management
Practical knowledge of machining rejection causes and corrective action methodology
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kaizen, and OEE measurement
Basic ERP or MIS system proficiency for production reporting and work order management
Comfortable working in a rotating shift environment including morning and evening shifts

Benefits & Work Conditions

Monthly salary of ₹22,000–₹45,000 based on production engineering experience and manufacturing domain
