About This Role

WallCraft USA is hiring experienced drywall installers to join its commercial and residential construction crews in the Houston metropolitan area. This is a full-time, onsite role for skilled tradespeople who take pride in delivering clean, precise drywall installation across new construction and renovation projects. You will work on a variety of project types including single-family homes, retail fit-outs, multifamily apartment buildings, and light commercial interiors. Role Context

WallCraft USA operates across the Greater Houston area with active projects in residential subdivisions, retail centre renovations, and multifamily developments. Drywall crews work under the supervision of lead installers and project foremen, with daily task assignments provided at the start of each shift. Projects involve both metal stud framing and drywall hanging, taping, and finishing work depending on project phase. The company maintains close relationships with general contractors across Texas, ensuring a steady pipeline of work and minimal downtime between projects throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

Install metal stud framing, track, and blocking for interior partition walls in residential and commercial construction projects.
Hang, cut, and fasten gypsum wallboard panels to metal and wood stud framing with precision and minimal material waste.
Apply joint compound to drywall seams, corners, and fastener heads to achieve smooth, paint-ready surface finishes on schedule.
Tape drywall joints using paper and mesh tape techniques and feather compound layers to produce Level 4 and Level 5 finishes.
Install corner bead, trim accessories, and casing bead at wall terminations, windows, doors, and penetration points throughout projects.
Read and interpret construction drawings and reflected ceiling plans to determine wall layouts, heights, and framing configurations.
Work safely at height using extension stilts, ladders, and scaffolding in compliance with OSHA fall protection standards at all times.
Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and other trades to ensure rough-in work is complete before drywall installation proceeds.
Maintain a clean and organised jobsite at the end of each shift by removing scrap drywall, disposing of debris, and storing tools correctly.

Requirements & Skills

Minimum two years of hands-on drywall installation experience in residential, multifamily, or commercial construction environments.
Proficiency in metal stud framing including layout, stud spacing, header construction, and soffit framing for complex interior conditions.
Skill in drywall hanging, cutting around penetrations, and achieving tight, consistent screw patterns at required spacing intervals.
Experience with taping and finishing techniques including hand taping, corner bead application, and skim coat finishing for high-end projects.
Ability to read basic construction drawings and understand room finish schedules, elevation views, and detail references accurately.
Valid driver licence and reliable personal transportation to reach job sites in the Greater Houston area each working day.
Physical capability to lift panels weighing up to 80 pounds, work on stilts for extended periods, and perform overhead installation tasks.
OSHA 10 certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire if not currently held by the candidate.
