About RRB NTPC 2026
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories) 2026 recruitment notification for graduate and 12th-pass candidates. Indian Railways is one of the largest employers in the world and RRB NTPC is your direct path to a secure, well-paid government career in the railways. Graduate-level posts include Station Master, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, and Commercial Apprentice. This is a central government job with job security, pension benefits, railway travel concessions, and regular pay revisions.
Graduate-Level Posts Under RRB NTPC 2026
- Station Master: Pay Level 6 (₹35,400 basic). Manage train movements and station operations. Age: 18–36.
- Goods Guard: Pay Level 5 (₹29,200 basic). Responsible for freight train safety and documentation. Age: 18–36.
- Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk: Pay Level 5 (₹29,200 basic). Ticketing, customer service, and accounts. Age: 18–36.
- Commercial Apprentice: Pay Level 4 (₹25,500 basic). Commercial, marketing, and operations support. Age: 18–30.
- Traffic Apprentice: Pay Level 4 (₹25,500 basic). Train scheduling and operations support. Age: 18–30.
- Junior Account Assistant cum Typist: Pay Level 3 (₹21,700 basic). Accounts and typing work. Age: 18–33.
In-Hand Salary (Approximate)
- Pay Level 3 posts: ₹24,000 – ₹32,000 per month (including HRA and DA)
- Pay Level 4 posts: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month
- Pay Level 5 posts: ₹35,000 – ₹48,000 per month
- Pay Level 6 posts (Station Master): ₹45,000 – ₹60,000 per month
Eligibility
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university (for Grade Level 4–6 posts)
- 12th pass for certain Level 2–3 posts
- Age: 18 to 36 years as of the cut-off date (varies by post)
- Age relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years; OBC — 3 years; PwD — 10 years
- Indian citizenship required
Selection Process
- CBT 1 (Preliminary): 100 questions — Mathematics, General Intelligence, General Awareness (90 minutes)
- CBT 2 (Mains): 120 questions — Mathematics, General Intelligence, General Awareness (90 minutes)
- Typing Test / Skill Test (for applicable posts like JAA and CTTC)
- Document Verification and Medical Examination
