Junior Architect (New Grad) – CannonDesign

We are hiring New Grad Junior Architects at our Chicago studio.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop architectural documents for CannonDesign projects spanning academic medical centers, university buildings, research laboratories, and K-12 schools
  • Build Revit architectural models and produce coordinated construction document packages with attention to technical accuracy and constructability
  • Conduct evidence-based design research — reviewing healthcare facility and learning environment research literature to inform CannonDesign's design strategies
  • Develop design visualizations — SketchUp, Rhino, and rendering tools — for stakeholder engagement, community presentations, and design review
  • Support integrated BIM coordination with CannonDesign's in-house MEP engineering team using Revit MEP and Navisworks
  • Apply healthcare design guidelines (FGI Guidelines, HIPAA, Infection Prevention) and education design research to CannonDesign project typologies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's of Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program
  • Revit proficiency; BIM coordination experience is a plus
  • Passion for evidence-based, research-informed design in healthcare or education
  • Strong collaborative skills for CannonDesign's integrated AE studio environment
  • LEED GA credential is valued; CannonDesign supports LEED AP accreditation
