Architectural Designer – Entry Level – Leo A Daly

Founded in 1915 in Omaha, Leo A Daly is a recognized leader in aviation, federal/government, healthcare, and military architecture — having designed hundreds of US Air Force bases, VA medical centers, and international airports worldwide. Leo A Daly's Washington, DC office is a hub for the firm's federal government, defense, and transportation portfolio. We are hiring Entry-Level Architectural Designers in Washington, DC for projects spanning airport terminals, VA hospitals, federal courthouses, and military facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural design documents for Leo A Daly's aviation, federal government, healthcare, and defense projects at all phases from SD through CDs
- Produce Revit architectural models and drawing packages — adhering to TSA security requirements, federal design standards, and FAA aviation design guidelines
- Create design visualizations and client presentations for federal agency stakeholders including GSA, DoD, VA, and FAA project managers
- Research and apply federal design standards — Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), GSA Facilities Standards (P100), and VA Design Guides
- Support security design coordination for government facilities — applying ISC security standards and CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) principles
- Coordinate architectural design with Leo A Daly's in-house civil, structural, and MEP engineering teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's of Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program
- Revit and AutoCAD proficiency
- US citizenship is required for federal government project work (security clearance eligibility)
- Interest in aviation, federal government, healthcare, or military architecture
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance is a plus
