About This Role

Arup — an independent global firm of engineers, designers, planners, and technical specialists — is hiring fresh graduates as Interior Design Graduates at its India studios. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary building design projects where interior design is developed in genuine integration with structural, MEP, and acoustic engineering from day one.

Job Overview

Role Context

Arup India's building design practice integrates architecture, interior design, structural engineering, MEP services, acoustics, and façade engineering within unified project teams. Interior Design Graduates contribute to projects spanning cultural institutions, corporate headquarters, healthcare facilities, transport hubs, and education campuses — all developed with Arup's characteristic emphasis on technical rigour alongside design quality. You will work alongside engineers daily, developing an integrated understanding of building design that is rare to find in pure design-only studios.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop interior design schemes from concept through to construction documentation in Revit and AutoCAD
• Contribute to BIM-coordinated design development — working within multi-disciplinary Revit models
• Prepare interior design presentations — concept boards, material palettes, 3D renders, and design narratives
• Research and specify materials, finishes, and FF&E with reference to sustainability, acoustics, and occupant wellbeing criteria
• Assist in coordinating interior design with structural, MEP, acoustic, and façade engineering disciplines
• Support sustainability documentation — LEED, WELL, or GRIHA material credits and indoor environment quality inputs
• Attend site visits and design coordination meetings; prepare minutes and track action items

Requirements & Skills

• B.Des (Interior Design) or B.Arch — 2024/2025 batch
• Revit proficiency preferred; AutoCAD is required
• 3D visualization — SketchUp, Rhino, or Lumion
• Understanding of sustainable design and human-centred design principles
• Curiosity about how building services and structure intersect with interior design
• Strong design portfolio demonstrating spatial thinking, graphic quality, and technical drawing ability
