Academic Tutor – Huntington Learning Center
Huntington Learning Center has been helping students reach their academic potential since 1977, with a focus on reading, math, writing, and test preparation. We are seeking a dedicated Academic Tutor to deliver structured, individualized instruction to students in grades K-12 in center-based and home settings in Philadelphia.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1-on-1 tutoring sessions in reading, writing, math, and study skills for K-12 students
- Administer diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps and design individualized programs
- Prepare and deliver structured lessons using Huntington's proven curriculum materials
- Monitor and record student progress, adjusting pacing and materials as needed
- Conduct parent conferences to share progress reports and tutoring recommendations
- Support SAT, ACT, and state standardized test preparation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Mathematics, or related field
- Strong academic background with 3.0+ GPA preferred
- Prior experience working with K-12 students in a teaching or tutoring role
- Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working with children
- Background check clearance required
