Responsibilities
- Accept on-demand student connections and provide immediate academic assistance
- Help students understand concepts in Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies (K-12 and college-level)
- Use the Tutor.com virtual classroom with shared whiteboard, code editor, and text tools
- Write session summaries to document what was covered and recommend next steps for students
- Maintain high session quality ratings to ensure continued work availability
- Follow Tutor.com's pedagogical guidelines emphasizing guided discovery over answer-giving
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (completed) in a subject area relevant to tutoring
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Reliable computer, headset, and high-speed internet connection
- Patient, encouraging teaching style with ability to adapt explanations to different learners
