Online Academic Tutor – Varsity Tutors
Varsity Tutors is one of the nation's largest live learning platforms, connecting students with expert tutors across thousands of subjects from K-12 through college and beyond. We are seeking enthusiastic Online Academic Tutors for subjects including Math, Science, English, History, and Test Prep (SAT, ACT, AP).
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one or small group online tutoring sessions via the Varsity Tutors platform
- Assess individual student needs and create customized lesson plans to address learning gaps
- Deliver engaging, interactive lessons using digital whiteboards and screen-sharing tools
- Track student progress and communicate updates to parents and students after sessions
- Prepare students for exams, quizzes, and standardized tests
- Maintain reliable availability and respond promptly to session booking requests
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (any field) or currently enrolled in a degree program
- Strong subject matter expertise in at least one academic discipline
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet workspace
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus but not required for new graduates
