Vascular Development Engineer – Cardiovascular Systems Inc

Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. (CSI) is a medical device company dedicated to developing innovative treatments for vascular disease, including orbital atherectomy systems used to treat calcified coronary and peripheral artery disease. Our Saint Paul, MN headquarters is seeking a Vascular Development Engineer to support next-generation catheter-based device development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and benchtop testing of coronary and peripheral atherectomy catheters
  • Execute mechanical testing of catheter components per ASTM and ISO standards
  • Support preclinical animal study protocol development and data collection
  • Document test methods, results, and design changes in PLM/DHF system
  • Work with clinical and marketing teams to translate physician feedback into device requirements
  • Contribute to risk management documentation and regulatory submission packages

Requirements

  • BS in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science
  • 0-2 years of experience in catheter or interventional device development preferred
  • Strong interest in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology devices
  • Hands-on lab skills and comfort with small-scale component fabrication and assembly
  • Collaborative approach with excellent communication abilities
