Biomechanical Engineer I – Globus Medical
Globus Medical is an innovative medical device company focused on developing musculoskeletal implants and enabling technologies. Our Audubon, PA headquarters is seeking a Biomechanical Engineer I to support spinal and orthopedic implant development and validation testing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct biomechanical testing of spinal and orthopedic implants per ASTM F2077, F1717, and related standards
- Develop and qualify test fixtures and custom test setups for novel implant configurations
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to support implant design optimization
- Analyze and document test data; prepare engineering reports and design history file entries
- Collaborate with product development teams to define test requirements and acceptance criteria
- Support cadaveric testing studies when required
Requirements
- BS in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field
- 0-2 years of experience in biomechanical testing or medical device development
- Familiarity with ASTM standards for spinal and orthopedic devices
- Experience with FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus) is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on laboratory skills
