Biomedical Engineer Associate – Tandem Diabetes Care
Tandem Diabetes Care is a medical device company dedicated to improving the lives of people with diabetes through relentless innovation and revolutionary customer experience. We are hiring a Biomedical Engineer Associate in San Diego to support insulin pump development and testing.
Responsibilities
- Assist in design and verification testing of insulin delivery pump mechanisms
- Support failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and CAPA activities
- Execute test protocols per IEC 60601-1 and relevant ANSI/AAMI standards
- Maintain and calibrate lab test fixtures and equipment
- Document engineering data in product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams in Agile development sprints
Requirements
- BS in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 0-2 years experience; internships in medical device industry valued
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude and comfort working with small electromechanical assemblies
- Experience with statistical analysis software (Minitab, JMP) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
