Lattice Semiconductor
Lattice Semiconductor is hiring an FPGA Hardware Engineer to develop low-power, small-footprint FPGAs used in industrial automation, automotive ADAS, and communications infrastructure. You will design the configurable logic, memory, and I/O blocks that define Lattice's competitive position in the edge FPGA market.
Lattice's FPGA architecture team is small — fewer than 100 engineers — which means every engineer has visible ownership of the product. You will design logic elements, distributed RAM, DSP blocks, or I/O circuitry that goes into every Lattice FPGA chip. The Hillsboro campus works closely with foundry partners including TSMC and GlobalFoundries, with process nodes ranging from 28nm to 5nm for newer products.
Engineers interested in designing the FPGA itself rather than designing with FPGAs. Lattice's focused size means you contribute directly to architectural decisions that ship in products, and you gain deep understanding of how FPGA primitives are actually implemented at the silicon level — knowledge that very few engineers possess.
Lattice Semiconductor is the world's leading provider of low-power FPGAs, competing with Intel (Altera) and Xilinx (AMD) in the small-footprint FPGA segment. Its ECP5, iCE40, and MachXO product families are deployed in 5G base stations, industrial robots, and automotive sensor fusion systems.
Apply at Lattice Semiconductor Jobs. The interview process covers RTL design fundamentals, FPGA architecture concepts, and a design problem discussion with the architecture team.
