About This Role

Raytheon Technologies is hiring an Embedded Hardware Engineer to develop electronics for radar systems, guided missiles, electronic warfare platforms, and defense sensors. Role Context

Raytheon's hardware teams develop electronics for missile guidance computers, radar processor cards, and EW receiver front-ends. Programs typically span 3–7 years from design to delivery, giving engineers deep experience in MIL-SPEC hardware qualification and DO-254 design assurance processes. Teams of 10–20 hardware engineers work across the full lifecycle from requirements through acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design schematics and PCB layouts for defense electronics using Cadence or Mentor tools
  • Select and qualify military-grade components per MIL-PRF specifications
  • Perform signal integrity and power integrity analysis for high-speed digital boards
  • Develop hardware test procedures and execute qualification testing per MIL-STD-810/461
  • Produce design documentation compliant with DO-254 DAL C/D objectives
  • Support system integration and hardware acceptance testing with customers

Requirements & Skills

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • PCB design experience with complex multilayer boards
  • Understanding of high-speed digital design and signal integrity analysis
  • Familiarity with FPGA or DSP-based designs is a plus
  • US Secret clearance or eligibility to obtain one (US citizenship required)
  • Strong documentation discipline and attention to design verification standards
