Role Context

DevOps engineers at Microsoft work embedded within product teams and are accountable for release pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and operational health. Associate DevOps engineers are paired with a senior engineer and are expected to contribute to sprint deliverables within the first 90 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
• Write infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates on Azure
• Monitor services using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
• Automate deployment, testing, and rollback processes to increase release confidence
• Collaborate with software engineers on containerization using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
• Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or Systems Engineering (2024–2026 grad)
• Scripting ability in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Familiarity with version control, branching strategies, and pull request workflows
• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure — networking, storage, compute on Azure or AWS
• Interest in automation and reliability engineering
