Banaras Silk House
Banaras Silk House is hiring a Handloom Production Supervisor to oversee weaving operations at its manufacturing unit in the Madanpura area of Varanasi. Banarasi silk weaving is a GI-tagged craft and a backbone of Varanasi's economy. This role is for experienced candidates who understand pit loom or jacquard loom operations and can manage a team of skilled artisan weavers. Knowledge of zari work and brocade patterns is a strong advantage.
You will supervise 20–30 weavers across a unit producing sarees, dress materials, and fabric for export buyers. Your role involves planning the weaving schedule based on order requirements, maintaining thread and yarn stock, inspecting finished fabric for quality, and coordinating with the design team for new pattern implementations. Peak order periods are Diwali, wedding season (November–February), and export dispatch cycles.
Banaras Silk House has been producing and exporting Banarasi silk sarees and fabric for over 35 years. We supply to boutiques and export buyers in India, the UK, and the Middle East. Our Madanpura unit employs 85 weavers and artisans and maintains the traditional craft standards that the Banarasi GI tag demands.
Apply now. Preference given to candidates from Varanasi with active handloom production experience. An on-site assessment at the weaving unit will be part of the selection process.
