Leather Production Supervisor – Kanpur | Manufacturing | 2+ Years

About This Role

Kanpur Leather Works is hiring a Production Supervisor to oversee tanning and finishing operations at its manufacturing unit in Jajmau, Kanpur. Kanpur is India's largest leather manufacturing hub and this role offers excellent long-term career prospects in one of the city's most established industries. Candidates with 2+ years of experience in leather production, tannery operations, or any manufacturing supervision role are preferred.

Role Context

You will supervise a team of 25–35 production workers across the beam house, tanning drum, and finishing sections. You will report to the Production Manager and coordinate with the QC team to ensure output meets buyer specifications. Daily production planning, shift management, and chemical usage records are your core responsibilities. Knowledge of Chrome and Vegetable tanning processes is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day production operations across assigned sections
• Ensure production targets are met in terms of quantity and quality
• Maintain chemical usage logs and production batch records
• Brief workers on daily targets and monitor their output throughout the shift
• Identify and report equipment faults for maintenance action
• Enforce factory safety and housekeeping standards on the floor
• Coordinate with QC for in-process inspection and rejection handling

Requirements & Skills

• 2+ years of experience in leather manufacturing, tannery, or production supervision
• Knowledge of Chrome or Vegetable tanning processes preferred
• Ability to manage and motivate a large shop floor team
• ITI / Diploma in Leather Technology or any relevant technical qualification
• Hindi communication — spoken and written
• Willing to work in shift including early morning shift in peak seasons
