Data Scientist (New Grad)

Meta

Full-time Hybrid United States

Job Description

About This Role

Meta is hiring New Grad Data Scientists to work across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads, and emerging AR/VR platforms. You will go through a bootcamp, choose your team, and immediately start influencing product decisions through experimentation and analytics for a user base of over 3 billion people.

Job Overview

  • Job Title: Data Scientist (New Grad)
  • Company: Meta
  • Location: Menlo Park, CA / New York, NY / Seattle, WA / Austin, TX / Los Angeles, CA
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Experience Level: Entry-level (0–2 years)
  • Salary Range: $44–$60/hr
  • Posted Date: 2026-06-04
  • Application Deadline: 2026-07-04

Role Context

Meta data scientists are embedded in product teams and are accountable for the analytical side of every major feature decision. After a 6-week bootcamp where you rotate and choose your team, you will run experiments, build dashboards, and develop models that feed directly into product roadmaps. The pace is fast and ownership is real from month one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the metrics strategy for a product surface or feature area
  • Design, launch, and analyze A/B experiments at massive scale
  • Build and maintain dashboards tracking engagement, growth, and retention KPIs
  • Develop predictive models to understand user behavior and forecast product outcomes
  • Work closely with product managers and engineers on data-informed decisions
  • Write SQL-heavy analyses and synthesize findings into clear product recommendations

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline (2025–2026 grad)
  • Strong SQL — comfortable with complex queries across hundreds of millions of rows
  • Python proficiency for statistical analysis, visualization, and light modeling
  • Deep understanding of A/B testing, statistical power, and experiment design
  • Ability to distill complex analyses into actionable product insights
  • Prior internship in data science or analytics at a consumer tech company preferred

Benefits & Work Conditions

  • $44–$60/hr with Meta RSUs and semi-annual performance bonuses
  • Hybrid schedule with flexible remote days
  • $3,000 annual wellness and education reimbursement
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and mental health benefits
  • On-campus gyms, cafeterias, and childcare support

Who Should Apply

Analytically sharp graduates who enjoy the intersection of data and product — people who ask "what should we measure?" before "what do the numbers say?" You should be equally comfortable writing SQL, running a t-test, and explaining your findings in a product review.

About the Company

Meta Platforms builds social connectivity tools used by more than 3 billion people across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads. Its data science team is one of the most respected in the industry, known for developing foundational techniques in online experimentation and causal inference at scale.

How to Apply

Apply through Meta Careers university portal. The interview process for data scientists includes SQL and Python coding rounds, a statistics/probability interview, and a product case study. No systems design round for new grad DS roles.
