Meta
Meta is hiring a Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize the global network fabric that connects Meta's data centers and delivers traffic to billions of users worldwide. You will work on custom-built networking hardware and software stacks that handle some of the highest traffic volumes on the internet.
Meta designs its own network switching silicon and runs its own backbone — this is not a vendor-managed network. Engineers here work at the intersection of hardware design, network protocol engineering, and software automation. You will contribute to the network that carries more traffic than most countries' entire internet infrastructure combined.
Network engineers who want to work on infrastructure at a scale and complexity no traditional enterprise or service provider can offer. You are comfortable writing automation code, reading BGP routing tables, and collaborating with hardware engineers on custom silicon integration.
Meta designs its own network switches (Wedge, FBOSS), runs its own backbone (Express Backbone), and participates in Internet Exchange Points globally. Its network engineering team has contributed foundational open networking projects to the Open Compute Project and the wider industry.
Apply via Meta Careers. Search "Network Infrastructure Engineer." The interview includes a networking fundamentals technical screen, a network design session, and a behavioral discussion.
