Meta is hiring a Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize the global network fabric that connects Meta's data centers and delivers traffic to billions of users worldwide. You will work on custom-built networking hardware and software stacks that handle some of the highest traffic volumes on the internet.

Role Context

Meta designs its own network switching silicon and runs its own backbone — this is not a vendor-managed network. Engineers here work at the intersection of hardware design, network protocol engineering, and software automation. You will contribute to the network that carries more traffic than most countries' entire internet infrastructure combined.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy network topology changes across Meta's global data center fabric
• Automate network provisioning, configuration management, and change workflows
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across BGP, OSPF, and ECMP routing domains
• Develop network monitoring and telemetry systems for capacity and health tracking
• Collaborate with hardware teams on the integration of custom switching silicon
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to network-impacting incidents

Requirements & Skills

• 2+ years of network engineering experience in a large-scale data center or ISP environment
• Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and data center networking architectures
• Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tooling
• Familiarity with OpenConfig, gNMI, or network telemetry frameworks
• Ability to troubleshoot complex routing and switching issues under pressure
• CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent expertise is a strong plus
