Meta
Meta is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer to design, build, and operate the distributed systems and compute platforms that run Meta's global services. You will work on storage systems, compute schedulers, networking layers, or developer productivity tooling at a scale few engineers ever encounter.
Meta's infrastructure teams build the platforms on which all of Meta's products run. You might work on TAO (Meta's distributed graph database), Tupperware (its Kubernetes-like scheduler), or the network fabric connecting hundreds of data centers globally. The problems here are genuinely novel — you will be solving challenges that textbooks don't yet describe, at a scale no open-source solution handles out of the box.
Engineers who are drawn to foundational, systems-level problems and want to work on infrastructure that no off-the-shelf solution can handle. You enjoy reading papers, experimenting with novel approaches, and owning systems that other engineers depend on daily.
Meta operates one of the largest compute and networking footprints on earth. Its infrastructure engineering teams build and maintain systems including TAO, Cassandra (open-sourced by Meta), Presto, and custom networking hardware, all running at a scale that demands original engineering solutions.
Apply via Meta Careers. Search "Infrastructure Software Engineer." The interview includes a systems-focused coding round, a distributed systems design session, and a behavioral interview.
