About This Role

EPAM Systems is hiring a Junior TypeScript Developer on a hybrid basis to join its JavaScript engineering community. You will work on TypeScript-based web and API projects for US clients in fintech and media, contributing to both frontend (React/Angular) and backend (Node.js) depending on project needs.

Role Context

EPAM's JavaScript community is one of its largest and most active engineering practices. As a TypeScript developer, you will be assigned to a project based on your strengths — frontend-heavy or Node.js backend — and expected to deepen your TypeScript skills rapidly. Onsite days involve pairing with senior engineers; remote days are focused development time with async standups and code review cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Write strictly typed TypeScript code for frontend components or backend services
• Apply TypeScript generics, utility types, and strict null checks correctly
• Develop React or Angular components (frontend track) or Express/NestJS APIs (backend track)
• Write unit tests using Jest and maintain code coverage standards
• Participate in code reviews focused on type correctness and code maintainability
• Attend onsite pairing sessions to accelerate technical growth

Requirements & Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with JavaScript proficiency
• TypeScript basics — types, interfaces, enums, and generics
• Experience with React, Angular, or Node.js (at least one)
• Understanding of JavaScript async programming (Promises, async/await)
• Git workflow proficiency
• Openness to working on either frontend or backend TypeScript projects
