About This Role

Hexaware Technologies is hiring a Junior Data Engineer on a hybrid schedule to build and maintain data pipelines for insurance and banking clients. You will work with SQL, Python, and cloud-based ETL tools to move, transform, and deliver data that powers analytics and reporting systems.

Role Context

You will join a data engineering team building ETL pipelines on AWS (Glue, S3, Redshift) for financial reporting use cases. Onsite days are used for pipeline design reviews, stakeholder meetings with data analysts, and architecture walkthroughs with the data engineering lead. Remote days are for development, testing, and monitoring pipeline runs.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, and AWS Glue
• Load and transform data into Redshift or Snowflake data warehouses
• Write SQL queries and stored procedures for data transformation logic
• Monitor pipeline runs and investigate data quality failures
• Collaborate with data analysts to understand downstream data requirements
• Document pipeline logic and maintain data dictionaries

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or Information Systems
• Strong SQL skills — joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions
• Python programming for data manipulation (pandas, boto3 basics)
• Conceptual understanding of ETL/ELT data pipeline patterns
• Familiarity with any cloud data warehouse (Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery)
• Ability to commute for 2 onsite days per week
