Role Context

You will join a four-person Android team building a healthcare patient app used by a US hospital network. Onsite days are used for sprint planning, design reviews, and device testing sessions; remote days are for focused development. The codebase follows MVVM architecture with Jetpack Compose for the UI layer, and the team has strong code review practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Android app features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Implement MVVM architecture using ViewModel, LiveData, and Room
• Consume REST APIs using Retrofit and manage background tasks with Coroutines
• Write unit tests using JUnit and Mockito
• Test the app on physical Android devices and various API levels
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming

Requirements & Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Kotlin fundamentals — null safety, data classes, coroutines basics
• Basic Android development experience through academic projects or personal apps
• Understanding of Android lifecycle and Jetpack libraries
• Familiarity with Android Studio and Gradle
• Ability to commute to the office 2 days per week
