Role Context

This role is based at a Cognizant delivery center where you will be embedded on a client project team. Projects span banking, insurance, and healthcare verticals. Freshers go through Cognizant's GenC program — a structured onboarding that includes technical training before client placement. Onsite presence allows for direct collaboration with senior architects and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and maintain Java or Python application code following team standards
• Assist with unit testing and defect fixing across assigned modules
• Participate in daily standups and sprint ceremonies
• Support seniors with code reviews, documentation, and release preparation
• Learn and apply Cognizant's delivery frameworks and quality standards
• Communicate status updates clearly to team leads and project managers

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering
• Working knowledge of Java or Python — demonstrated through coursework or projects
• Understanding of OOP concepts and basic data structures
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday at the assigned delivery center
