About This Role

Role Context

Snowflake's ML teams build AI capabilities that run natively inside the data cloud — without requiring data to leave the platform. New grad MLEs work on model training, embedding generation, LLM fine-tuning, and serving infrastructure. You will be close to both the data engineering and ML sides of the product.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy ML models within the Snowflake Cortex AI platform
• Develop data preprocessing and feature extraction pipelines at petabyte scale
• Implement and evaluate LLM fine-tuning and RAG workflows for enterprise use cases
• Optimize model serving latency and cost on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Write production Python and SQL code integrated with Snowflake's query engine
• Monitor live AI features and iterate based on usage and quality metrics

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Data Science, or a quantitative field (2024–2025 grad)
• Python proficiency with hands-on ML experience (PyTorch, Hugging Face, or scikit-learn)
• Familiarity with SQL and working with large-scale structured data
• Understanding of LLMs, embeddings, or retrieval-augmented generation is a plus
• Cloud ML deployment experience (SageMaker, Vertex AI, Azure ML) is a bonus
• Strong curiosity about data-centric AI and enterprise AI use cases
