Amazon
Amazon is hiring Applied Scientists I to work on ML problems across Alexa, Recommendations, Search, Supply Chain, and AWS AI services. This entry-level science role bridges research and engineering — you will build models that ship to production and directly influence customer outcomes.
Applied Scientists at Amazon own both the modeling and the deployment of their solutions. You will sit in a two-pizza team, working directly with software engineers and product managers to translate ML experiments into live product features. Expect high ownership from your first month.
Quantitatively strong graduates who enjoy both the theory of ML and the process of getting models into production. You are comfortable with ambiguity, motivated by measurable impact, and want to own real-world ML problems from day one.
Amazon is a global leader in e-commerce, cloud computing, and AI research. Its applied science teams work on recommendation systems, NLP, computer vision, and operations research — with direct access to some of the world's largest real-world datasets.
Apply on Amazon Jobs. Filter by "Applied Scientist" and "Entry Level." Expect an online ML/coding assessment, followed by a virtual loop of 4–5 rounds covering ML fundamentals, coding, and Amazon Leadership Principles.
