Role Context

AI Engineer I hires are placed into product teams working on Copilot, Azure OpenAI Service, or internal ML platforms. You will work with LLMs, fine-tuning workflows, and responsible AI tooling under the guidance of senior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Integrate LLM and ML model APIs into product features across Microsoft's ecosystem
• Build and test prompt engineering pipelines and RAG workflows
• Implement evaluation frameworks to measure AI feature quality and safety
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists on fine-tuning and model adaptation tasks
• Develop data pipelines and preprocessing utilities for training and evaluation
• Contribute to responsible AI practices including bias detection and content filtering

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, AI, or Data Science (2024–2025 grad)
• Programming proficiency in Python; C# or TypeScript experience is a plus
• Familiarity with transformer models, fine-tuning, or prompt engineering
• Understanding of REST APIs and cloud-based AI services (Azure, OpenAI)
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to model evaluation metrics
• Internship or project exposure to NLP, CV, or ML engineering preferred
