Remote HR Assistant Part Time Jobs Canada

HomeOffice Canada

Part-time Remote Canada

Job Description

HomeOffice Canada provides outsourced HR administration services to small and medium-sized companies across Canada that do not yet have a dedicated internal HR team. Our remote HR assistants handle the day-to-day people operations that keep businesses compliant, organized, and running smoothly — from onboarding new hires to maintaining employee records and coordinating performance review cycles. We are looking for a discreet, organized, and people-oriented part-time Remote HR Assistant to join our growing team.

You will be assigned to two to four client companies and will work directly with their business owners or office managers to handle recurring HR tasks. No two clients are identical — some need help with recruitment coordination, others with compliance documentation, and some simply need their employee files maintained and kept up to date. You will be supported by a senior HR consultant who oversees all client accounts and is available for questions.

A Day In This Role:

You start by checking your clients' HR inboxes, flagging time-sensitive items like new hire paperwork or contract renewals. You update employee files, prepare onboarding packages for upcoming start dates, coordinate interview schedules, and draft HR communications as directed by your senior consultant. Two to three hours per client per week is typical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate recruitment logistics including posting jobs, screening applications, and scheduling interviews
  • Prepare and distribute onboarding packages, employment contracts, and benefits enrollment forms
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HRIS systems and shared document folders
  • Track probationary review dates, contract renewals, and performance review schedules
  • Process employment verification letters, ROEs, and other standard HR documentation
  • Coordinate employee training session logistics and maintain training completion records
  • Support policy update communications and distribute HR announcements to staff
  • Ensure client HR practices remain compliant with provincial employment standards

Qualifications Required:

  • Diploma or degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment standards legislation across major provinces
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, Humi, or Rippling is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent written communication skills for drafting professional HR correspondence
  • Minimum one year of HR, administrative, or people operations experience

What You Will Receive:

  • $20–$27/hr depending on experience and client complexity
  • Fully remote role — work from anywhere in Canada
  • 20 hours per week with a predictable Monday-to-Friday schedule
  • Support from a senior CPHR-designated consultant
  • Professional development support toward CHRP certification
  • Friendly, collaborative team culture built around mutual respect and growth

If you are passionate about people operations and want to build your HR career without the office commute, we would love to talk. Apply with your resume and a brief note about your HR experience.
