Job Description

WorkAnywhere Canada powers the live chat support functions for a growing collection of e-commerce and subscription brands. Our chat agents work entirely from home, handling real-time text conversations with customers who need help with orders, accounts, technical issues, and general product questions. We are hiring part-time Online Chat Support Agents across Canada who are fast typists, clear communicators, and calm under pressure.

Unlike phone support, chat support requires you to manage two to four concurrent conversations simultaneously. You need to be responsive, concise, and accurate — customers in chat queues have low patience for delays or vague answers. If you have excellent typing skills and thrive on solving problems quickly, this is a highly rewarding role that fits around nearly any schedule.

What A Shift Feels Like:

You log in, review the day's product updates and known issue log, then begin accepting chats as they queue. You greet customers warmly, diagnose their issue, check order and account systems, and resolve or escalate within four minutes per contact. High-quality shifts average a 90%+ first-contact resolution rate.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Handle three to four concurrent live chat conversations with customers during your shift
  • Diagnose and resolve order, account, billing, and product queries accurately and quickly
  • Use pre-approved macros for common issues while personalizing responses for complex situations
  • Escalate fraud concerns, technical outages, and unresolved complaints to the senior team
  • Update customer records in the CRM after each resolved conversation
  • Monitor and respond to chatbot handoff queues during peak traffic periods
  • Complete post-shift quality review forms rating your own resolution accuracy and speed
  • Provide feedback on confusing macros or knowledge base gaps to the operations team

Requirements:

  • Typing speed of at least 55 WPM with accurate spelling and punctuation under multitasking conditions
  • Strong command of written English — every message is a direct reflection of the client brand
  • Ability to think quickly and de-escalate frustrated customers without getting flustered
  • Comfortable navigating multiple browser tabs and software tools simultaneously
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home workspace
  • Previous chat, email support, or customer service experience is preferred but not required

Compensation & Schedule:

  • $17–$22/hr depending on client account and shift timing
  • Evening and weekend shifts attract a $1.50/hr premium
