Remote Research Analyst Part Time Jobs Canada

RemoteFirst Canada

Part-time Remote Canada

Job Description

RemoteFirst Canada provides market intelligence and competitive research services to investment firms, management consultancies, and product teams across North America. Our research analysts work remotely, delivering deep-dive reports, industry briefings, and data summaries that help our clients make faster, better-informed decisions. We are looking for a detail-obsessed part-time Remote Research Analyst to join our distributed team and contribute high-quality research across a variety of sectors.

The best analysts on our team combine strong analytical thinking with excellent writing skills. You need to find credible information efficiently, synthesize it clearly, and present your findings in a format that a busy executive can absorb in ten minutes. You will not be asked to simply compile data — you are expected to interpret it, identify patterns, and flag the implications that matter.

What You Will Be Researching:

Projects vary widely: one week you might be profiling competitors in the Canadian fintech space; the next, you could be tracking regulatory changes affecting a healthcare client, or summarizing consumer sentiment data from industry reports and surveys. Briefs are detailed and turnarounds are typically two to five business days.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct primary and secondary research on assigned industries, companies, and market trends
  • Synthesize information from databases, academic journals, news archives, and industry reports
  • Structure findings into clear, well-formatted written reports and executive summaries
  • Build comparison tables, data visualizations, and competitive landscape matrices in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Validate data sources for credibility, recency, and relevance before incorporating into reports
  • Collaborate with senior analysts to refine research scope and present preliminary findings
  • Maintain organized digital research libraries for ongoing client engagements
  • Meet project deadlines consistently while flagging scope issues early

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, social sciences, or a related analytical field
  • Strong written English with the ability to produce polished, concise reports
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for data organization and basic analysis
  • Experience with research databases such as Statista, IBISWorld, Bloomberg, or JSTOR is preferred
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, and meet firm deadlines
  • Inquisitive mindset — you enjoy digging until you find the answer, not just a quick summary

Benefits & Compensation:

  • $22–$30/hr based on research complexity and analyst level
  • Work 15–25 hours per week on a flexible schedule
  • Fully remote — accessible to all Canadian residents
  • Access to premium research databases provided at no cost
  • Mentorship from senior analysts and occasional co-authored published research pieces
  • Project-based bonuses for exceptional reports that lead to client renewals

We are looking for curious, rigorous thinkers who love learning about new industries. If that sounds like you, please include a writing sample with your application — even a university essay or previous report will do.
