Role Context

Eaton's manufacturing engineers are the technical backbone of its plant operations. Each engineer is assigned to a product family and owns the manufacturing process for that product from raw material to finished goods. Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain manufacturing routing, work instructions, and process flow diagrams
  • Lead process improvement projects to reduce cycle time, scrap, and production costs
  • Support equipment selection, installation, and qualification for new production lines
  • Drive corrective action on quality escapes through structured problem-solving (8D)
  • Perform time and motion studies and update labor standards
  • Interface with product design engineers on new product introduction and engineering changes
  • Support plant safety reviews and ergonomic improvement initiatives

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Knowledge of electrical components, power electronics, or fluid power is a plus depending on division
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing tools (5S, VSM, Kanban, SMED)
  • CAD and ERP system experience is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills for hourly team engagement and cross-functional collaboration
  • US work authorization required
