General Motors
General Motors is hiring an Entry-Level Manufacturing Tool & Die Engineer to support stamping and body-in-white manufacturing operations. You will design and maintain the precision tooling that shapes vehicle body panels and structural components, working at GM plants that produce some of the highest-volume vehicle lines in North America.
Tool and die engineers at GM are embedded in stamping plants and body shops, responsible for the performance, maintenance, and improvement of high-tonnage progressive dies and transfer tooling. Entry-level engineers shadow senior tool engineers for the first 90 days, then take ownership of a designated die set. The role requires regular time on the production floor across all shifts during launches.
This role is well-suited for recent engineering graduates who enjoy hands-on problem solving, are comfortable on active production floors, and want deep expertise in metal forming manufacturing. Prior coursework or project work involving machine design or manufacturing processes is a meaningful advantage.
General Motors is one of the world's largest automakers, with brands including Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac. Its US manufacturing network spans over 50 plants, producing more than 2.5 million vehicles per year. GM is also leading the EV transition with its Ultium battery platform, creating new manufacturing engineering roles across traditional and electric vehicle lines.
Apply directly at GM Careers using the link above. The process includes an online application, a recruiter screen, and a technical interview with the plant engineering team. Background and drug screening are required prior to offer.
