Role Context

MEDP participants complete two or three rotations across GE Aerospace's engine manufacturing facilities, covering areas like turbine blade fabrication, engine assembly, and additive manufacturing. Each rotation lasts 6–12 months, with a dedicated mentor and structured learning objectives. The program is a direct pipeline to senior manufacturing engineer roles within GE Aerospace's growing engine programs, including LEAP, GE9X, and XA100.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop manufacturing processes for jet engine components including blades, vanes, and casings
  • Support introduction of new machining, casting, or additive manufacturing technologies
  • Analyze production data to drive quality improvement and cost reduction
  • Partner with design engineers on design-for-manufacturability for next-gen engine programs
  • Lead Kaizen events and Lean transformation projects on the production floor
  • Present rotation deliverables and program progress to senior engineering leaders

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Graduation by August 2026
  • Strong academic performance and demonstrated engineering project experience
  • Interest in advanced manufacturing technologies (additive, composites, precision machining)
  • Willingness to relocate for rotational assignments
  • US work authorization required; some positions may require security clearance eligibility
