Job Description

About This Role

Textron Aviation — maker of Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft — is hiring Entry Level Manufacturing Engineers at its Wichita, Kansas headquarters. You will help design and optimize the manufacturing processes that bring general aviation and business jet aircraft to life, working in one of the most historic aircraft manufacturing cities in the United States.

Job Overview

  • Job Title: Entry Level Manufacturing Engineer
  • Company: Textron Aviation

Role Context

Textron Aviation produces over 1,000 aircraft per year across its Wichita facilities. Entry-level manufacturing engineers are assigned to specific product lines — such as the Citation jet family or Cessna piston aircraft — and are responsible for process development, tooling coordination, and production support for that platform. You will work in a relatively small team, which means broad exposure and early decision-making responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process plans for airframe structures, systems, and interiors
  • Design and procure production tooling and assembly fixtures
  • Provide floor support during production and resolve build issues in real time
  • Support quality escape investigation and corrective action closure
  • Participate in design reviews to provide producibility feedback to engineering
  • Identify and implement Lean improvements to reduce build hours and defects

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • Exposure to aircraft structures, composites, or mechanical assembly is a plus
  • Ability to read and mark up engineering drawings and assembly schematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD experience (CATIA preferred) is a bonus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a production schedule environment
  • US work authorization required

Benefits & Work Conditions

  • $27–$36/hr with Textron annual incentive program
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts
  • 401(k) with company match and employee stock purchase plan
  • Tuition reimbursement and paid professional development
  • On-site cafeteria and employee discounts on Textron products

Who Should Apply

This role is a strong fit for engineering graduates who have a passion for aviation, want to develop deep expertise in aircraft manufacturing, and prefer a company where their work visibly shows up in a completed airplane. Wichita is the "Air Capital of the World" — an ideal city to build a long-term aerospace manufacturing career.

About the Company

Textron Aviation is a Textron Inc. company and one of the world's largest manufacturers of general aviation, business, and military trainer aircraft. Its brands — Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker — represent over 90 years of aviation manufacturing heritage. The Wichita facilities span more than 3 million square feet and employ over 10,000 people.
