About This Role

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Entry Level Manufacturing Engineer in Courtland, Alabama, to support its Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program — one of the most critical US missile defense initiatives. You will develop manufacturing processes for precision missile components in a fast-paced, security-conscious production environment.

Role Context

This role sits within Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control manufacturing group. Engineers here define how interceptor components are fabricated, assembled, and tested. The 9x80 work schedule gives you every other Friday off. You will interface directly with production technicians and program management from your first week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Author and maintain manufacturing process plans and assembly work instructions
  • Support production floor operations and resolve technical non-conformances
  • Develop tooling requirements and coordinate with tool design teams
  • Conduct process capability studies and implement statistical process controls
  • Collaborate with supply chain to qualify vendor-supplied components
  • Participate in failure analysis and corrective action investigations
  • Support program reviews and present manufacturing status to leadership

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Knowledge of machining, composites, or propulsion assembly processes is a plus
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management standards
  • Ability to read technical drawings and apply GD&T principles
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional teamwork
  • Must be a US citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
