Library Assistant Duties
- Check library materials in and out using the integrated library system (ILS)
- Shelve returned books, periodicals, and media in correct classification order
- Assist patrons in locating materials and using library databases
- Process new acquisitions — stamp, label, and catalog incoming materials
- Support programming events and community outreach activities
Requirements
- Library Technician diploma or related post-secondary education preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and love of books and learning
- Patient and helpful with patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Familiar with library classification systems (Dewey Decimal or LCC)
Compensation
- CAD $20–$26/hour
- Public sector benefits package
- Monday to Friday schedule with some Saturday shifts
