About This Role
FreightLink USA is partnering with Owner Operator Truck Drivers across the United States for dedicated freight lanes, spot loads, and long-haul OTR contracts. As an owner operator, you bring your own CDL Class A truck and run loads under our carrier authority or your own MC number. This is consistently ranked among the highest-paying driving jobs available without a college degree, with top owner operators grossing $100,000–$180,000 annually in the right lanes.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport freight safely and on-schedule across assigned lanes or spot load markets using your own Class A semi-truck
- Maintain full compliance with FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) regulations using an ELD device at all times
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT standards and maintain accurate DVIR records
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding load status, delays, and delivery confirmations
- Handle freight carefully during loading and unloading; verify BOL accuracy at shipper and receiver locations
- Manage fuel efficiency, toll costs, and maintenance scheduling to maximise net earnings per mile
- Maintain valid CDL, medical certificate, and all required carrier compliance documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications
- No college degree required — valid CDL Class A licence and 1+ year of verifiable OTR driving experience required
- Clean MVR and DAC report; no DUI/DWI convictions in the past 10 years
- Ownership of a reliable Class A semi-truck that passes DOT annual inspection
- Strong time management, route planning, and self-discipline for long periods of independent work
- Hazmat endorsement and TWIC card are advantages for specialised freight opportunities
