Role Context

Associate Software Engineers at ServiceNow are embedded in product engineering squads responsible for specific platform modules such as ITSM, HRSD, or the core workflow engine. You will contribute to feature development across both backend services and UI components. ServiceNow's engineering org uses a "You build it, you run it" model — meaning your team owns the full lifecycle of its services, from design through production monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement new features and resolve bugs in the Now Platform using Java and JavaScript
• Write automated unit and integration tests to maintain high code coverage
• Collaborate with product managers during sprint planning and backlog grooming
• Review and provide constructive feedback on teammate pull requests
• Contribute to REST API design and internal service documentation
• Monitor deployed services using ServiceNow's internal observability tooling

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (2024–2026 grad)
• Programming proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or a similar language
• Understanding of web application architecture, REST APIs, and relational databases
• Exposure to agile software development workflows and version control with Git
• Analytical problem-solving ability and attention to code quality
• Prior internship or co-op experience in software development is a plus
