We are hiring New Grad Healthcare Data Scientists to advance Humana's mission of health outcomes improvement.

Responsibilities

• Build predictive models identifying Humana members at high risk of hospital admission, emergency room visits, or disease progression for proactive care management outreach
• Develop clinical NLP pipelines extracting diagnosis codes, medication lists, and care gaps from physician notes and clinical documentation in Humana's EHR-integrated programs
• Analyze medical claims data (HCPCS, ICD-10, NDC codes) to identify care gaps, drug adherence issues, and chronic disease management opportunities
• Build SDOH (Social Determinants of Health) risk models incorporating food insecurity, housing instability, and social isolation data to predict health outcomes for Humana's senior members
• Develop pharmacy analytics models predicting medication adherence, drug-drug interactions, and formulary optimization opportunities for Humana's pharmacy benefit management
• Conduct healthcare quality measure analysis (HEDIS, CMS Stars) supporting Humana's Medicare Advantage quality improvement programs

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, or Statistics
• Python and SQL proficiency for healthcare data analysis
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards: ICD-10, CPT codes, HCPCS, NDC, HL7 FHIR
• Understanding of healthcare policy, insurance claims, or public health concepts
• Interest in using data science to improve health outcomes for older Americans
