Junior Cloud Infrastructure Architect – New Grad – Broadcom (VMware)
Broadcom acquired VMware in 2023 for $69B — creating a global infrastructure software powerhouse with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) at the center of enterprise private cloud deployments worldwide. VMware vSphere, NSX, and vSAN are the foundational virtualization and software-defined infrastructure stack running in 90%+ of Fortune 500 data centers. VMware Cloud Foundation is now the enterprise private cloud platform of choice for organizations running AI and cloud-native workloads on-premises. Broadcom's VMware division is hiring New Grad Junior Cloud Infrastructure Architects to design and implement VMware Cloud Foundation architectures for enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- Design VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) private cloud architectures — sizing vSphere compute clusters, vSAN storage configurations, and NSX network virtualization for enterprise customers
- Develop VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) architectures enabling enterprise customers to run containerized workloads on VMware private cloud infrastructure
- Build VMware NSX network virtualization designs — micro-segmentation policies, distributed firewall rules, and load balancer configurations for enterprise data center security
- Design VMware HCX workload migration architectures enabling enterprise lift-and-shift migrations from on-premises vSphere to VMware Cloud on AWS and Azure VMware Solution
- Create VMware architecture documentation — HLD design documents, VCF sizing worksheets, and implementation runbooks for customer private cloud deployments
- Support VMware customer proof-of-concept implementations and technical workshops demonstrating VCF capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
- Understanding of virtualization fundamentals — VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM
- Knowledge of networking concepts: VLANs, routing, software-defined networking
- VMware VCP (vSphere or NSX) certification is a plus
- Interest in private cloud, data center infrastructure, or Kubernetes/container technologies
