Data Engineer – CDP Platform (Entry Level)

About This Role

Cloudera India is hiring entry-level Data Engineers for its Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) engineering teams. Cloudera is the world's leading open data lakehouse company, built on Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Iceberg. You will work on the CDP platform engineering team — building data engineering features for Cloudera Data Engineering (CDE), Cloudera Data Warehouse (CDW), and Cloudera DataFlow (NiFi).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Spark and PySpark features for Cloudera Data Engineering (CDE) — the managed Spark service on CDP
• Build Apache Iceberg table format features enabling ACID transactions and time-travel on cloud data lakes
• Implement Apache NiFi data flow components and processors for real-time data ingestion in Cloudera DataFlow
• Write Impala and Hive SQL query optimisation features for Cloudera Data Warehouse (CDW)
• Build REST APIs and CLI tools for CDP data engineering service configuration and management
• Contribute to Apache open-source projects: Iceberg, NiFi, Spark, Ozone that Cloudera engineers lead

Requirements & Skills

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science from a reputed institution (2025/2026 batch)
• Strong Java or Python programming skills
• Understanding of distributed systems, Hadoop/Spark concepts, and SQL
• Interest in open-source data engineering, Apache ecosystem projects, and data lake architectures
• Experience contributing to open-source projects on GitHub is a strong advantage
