About This Role
EPAM Systems India is hiring Junior Data Engineers for its data engineering delivery teams. EPAM builds data platforms for Fortune 500 clients in finance, media, healthcare, and retail across 55 countries. EPAM is known for its rigorous engineering standards applied to data systems — production-grade pipelines, comprehensive testing, and infrastructure-as-code for data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Build production-grade PySpark and Python data pipelines on Databricks or AWS EMR
- Develop dbt transformation models for Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery data warehouses
- Design data lake architectures using Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg on cloud object storage
- Write optimised SQL for complex analytical queries and data quality assertions
- Implement CI/CD for data pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform for infrastructure
- Undergo EPAM's structured 3-month data engineering onboarding and mentorship programme
Requirements & Skills
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science from a reputed institution (2025/2026 batch)
- Strong Python programming skills and SQL proficiency
- Understanding of distributed data processing: Spark, Hadoop, or Flink concepts
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehouse technologies
- Demonstrated ability through academic projects, internships, or coding challenges
