Data Engineer (Associate – Cloud Data)

About This Role

IBM India is hiring Associate Data Engineers for its IBM Data & AI and IBM Consulting practices. You will build data pipelines and analytics platforms for IBM's enterprise clients in BFSI, retail, and telecom — using IBM Cloud Pak for Data, Watson Studio, and open-source tools like Apache Spark and dbt to modernise legacy data warehouses.

Key Responsibilities

• Build ETL/ELT pipelines using IBM DataStage, Apache Spark on IBM Analytics Engine, and Python scripts
• Design data warehouse schemas and data lake architectures on IBM Cloud Object Storage and Db2 Warehouse
• Implement data transformations using dbt (data build tool) on Snowflake or IBM Db2
• Develop data quality checks using IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog and Great Expectations
• Orchestrate batch and streaming pipelines using Apache Airflow on IBM Cloud
• Participate in client workshops using IBM Design Thinking to elicit data requirements

Requirements & Skills

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Data Science (2025/2026 batch)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering tasks
• Understanding of data warehousing, ETL patterns, and relational databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, or Azure) and basic Spark concepts
• Good analytical thinking and ability to translate business requirements into data models
